Budget 2027: Elevated ART to be JB’s main transit fix ahead of RTS | 2027财政预算：高架ART将成新山主要公共交通方案

The federal government has agreed to build an Elevated Autonomous Rapid Transit (e-ART) system as the main solution to Johor Bahru’s traffic congestion. Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced it when tabling Budget 2027 on 9 October 2026, alongside short-term public transport improvements ahead of the RTS Link opening.

联邦政府已同意兴建高架自动驾驶捷运系统（e-ART），作为解决新山交通拥堵的主要方案。首相兼财政部长安华于2026年10月9日提呈2027年财政预算案时宣布，并将在 RTS 轻轨通车前先行改善公共交通。

What it means for buyers 对买家的意义

The RTS Link only helps if you can get to Bukit Chagar easily. The extra buses, KTM trips and shuttles are the near-term fix for that last mile, while the e-ART is the longer-term plan. If you are looking at homes outside walking distance of the RTS, check today’s bus and shuttle options to the station rather than relying on the e-ART, since its alignment has not been announced yet.
