George Town is Penang's capital, and part of its old city centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. KOMTAR, in the city centre, houses the Penang state government offices and will be the city-centre end of the Mutiara Line LRT, under construction since January 2025 with opening targeted for December 2031. The projects we list here are all high-rise, three of them about 1.3 to 1.5 km on foot from KOMTAR.
