If you are buying in the Johor Bahru city centre, four malls are changing the area at once: SKS City Mall opened in May 2026, City Square is midway through a five-phase refurbishment, and two more malls are being built at Coronation Square and One Bukit Senyum. SKS City Mall opened on 1 May 2026 at Bukit Senyum, with around 32 food and beverage outlets and roughly 90% of its space occupied at opening. Coronation Square broke ground on 7 May 2026 as Phase 2 of the development, with about 1.2 million square feet of gross floor area and completion targeted for 2029. Astaka’s Phase 3B at One Bukit Senyum includes a retail mall of about 300,000 square feet net lettable area, beside the Arden tower, together with a 250-room five-star hotel and branded residences. Construction runs from 2026 with completion targeted for 2030. • An open mall is a fact. A planned mall is a plan. SKS City Mall is trading today.
