Buying in Johor Bahru can work well if it fits your plan. It suits people who will use the home, can hold it for years, and can live with the border crossing. It suits fewer people who want a quick resale, or who own an HDB flat still in its Minimum Occupation Period (MOP). Who it suits适合谁

Who it may not suit可能不适合谁
- HDB owners still in their MOP. HDB says the flat owner, spouse and occupiers may not acquire private residential property during the MOP. CEA says this applies “locally or overseas”.仍在最低居住期内的组屋屋主。建屋发展局（HDB）规定，在MOP期间屋主、配偶和居住者不得购买私人住宅。新加坡房地产代理理事会（CEA）指出这适用于”本地或海外”。

Plan for busy days. Singapore’s land checkpoints cleared a record of more than 598,000 travellers on 19 June 2026 (ICA). School holidays and long weekends are the worst. Owning a home in JB does not by itself give you the right to live in Malaysia. It depends on your plan. It works best if you will use the home, can hold for years, and have checked eligibility, commute, rents and supply. It works less well for a quick flip.取决于你的计划。如果你会使用这个房子、能持有多年，并已查过资格、通勤、租金和供应，会比较合适。短期炒卖就不太合适。
