Outside the JB city centre, two retail areas are moving: Horizon Mall opened in Iskandar Puteri on 3 September 2026, and at Southkey, IGB has bought land next to Mid Valley and started building a hotel tower above the mall. One of those is a confirmed mall expansion. • A land purchase. IGB received approval for a RM214.97 million purchase of about 19.7 acres of leasehold land in Mukim Plentong adjoining Mid Valley Southkey. What is not confirmed is a mall extension. That has been described as a next-phase ambition, not an announced project.
